3rd transnational workshop
January 20/21 2005 in Birmingham, UK
Host: EEF West Midlands Technology Centre

Presentations showed a broad variety in tackling the issue of competence assessment: Whereas the Competence Card (Norway) follows a more individual approach, the instrument presented by the host, EEF, Validating Informal Training in Companies, stressed the benefit for competence development in companies. Instruments of other employers' driven organisations (TNOIK, Poland and MEDEF, France) followed similar direction.
Trade unions Representatives of TGWU (UK) presented an approach of Trade Unions' involvement in Workforce Development. - Thus social dialogue on different purposes and approaches of making competencies visible was conducted on the "micro level" of the Exemplo project in a lively and fruitful manner.
