|||
|
Abstract: With business relations increasingly internationalising and the transnational mobility of employees growing, the need for informative instruments enabling the documentation and recognition of competences on a Europe-wide basis has been growing. As the number of people with skills acquired outside formal structures keeps rising, it has become essential to ensure the transparency of non-formal and informal learning processes. Against this background, under the Leonardo da Vinci programme a toolkit has been developed that aims at assisting SMEs and their staff members to document and assess professional competences acquired in an non-formal and informal way. The present publication gives an insight into the development process, describes the experience with the use of the EXEMPLO toolkit in the countries involved and provides SMEs with numerous practical recommendations for both the determination and the promotion of the potentials of employees and applicants.
